thanks for the comments everyone, well I saw this differently than most people it appears. obviously the lamp is a light source but it has no effect on the lighting on the subject. the challenge said light the subject with a single light source, which is what I did...so hopefully that explains things. I personally liked the lamp in the picture as a photographic element, but to those who saw it distracting (and not as making it not fit the challenge) thank you for the input. |

Very nice, but the lamp in the background kinda ruins it for me. I can clearly see some light coming from the front, and I also think a part of the mic on the left couldve been cropped shorter. Altogether though, its a nice shot! |

Nice picture. Bummer that light was behind her, a) makes it a multiple light picture, and b) really distracts from the picture. I like the feel and attempt. <6> |

Use a single, artificial light source to dramatically light the subject of your choice.
A really good picture, I'm sorry, but I must think of the lamp as a second source. |
