Would have liked a ladybug. The weather has been miserable this week and this was the only guy I could find, huddled on my screen door. Fall is definitely here in the NW. This was challenging because the camera had a tough time AF'ing with the black on blue. I had to shove a white card behind the bug, focus as he was climbing, switch to manual, then snap the pic with the blue background. What a pain! I wish he was sharper, but oh well. Will it fly with the sharpness-over-all DPC crowd?

great contrasting colors and composition. The edges seem just a tad oversharpened to my eyes. The concept works well!

Simple and beautiful. There are a bit of artifacting maybe due to the crop but aside from that, I love the contrast in the colors. A solid 8 from me.

What a great image. The colors contrast well. Love the composition. Some of the blades look bown out and the one the bug is on (on my screen) seems overprocessed. Regardless the shot is well done. --7--

very nice & good idea!!! I would have gone over the right side if the beetle's body after sharpening with the history brush to reduce the halo effect. Superb colors! 7
