This is a classic De Soto car that I found in Brooklyn sitting near the Brooklyn Bridge and if you look close enough you can see the refelection of the Brooklyn Bridge on the body and bumper of the car. This was taken in color first as RAW photo then converted to a tif file and then was made into a HDR image and then converted to a Black & White photo. You can see a bigger or better version here.

WOW - loving the grill. This is a fantastic shot and a tribute to the old classic. Thanks for sharing. I particularly like the reflection in the bumper.

The car itself is a work of art. The headlamp covers give it a personality. The plate is classic so leavng it in is a good choice. It could be easily removed due to the lack of light surrounding it.

As for the relections they seem to provide the main soruce of illumination. Alot of car photographers will use sheets in a particular color (any would work on this) Primarilly black to create an artifical horizon. This would actually have hurt the photo and its not something people do when just shooting cars. I only say it would be good in the fact the reflection of a wide open space kind of takes away fromt he close crop feeling. But the lighting it provides makes it best to not block out any incoming light.

I love it and have actually see it before in your portfolio i believe.

I can see from the reflection where this one was shot even before reading your notes. It's an interesting location, but changing a lot. Too much sanitizing going on around here.

What year is it?? My mom inherited one from her great aunt and it was a 48. It had been repainted the wrong color in Mexico: purple. So we called it The Purple Cow.

This is a great perspective on this shot! Love the BW.

I LOVE old cars! This might could do with a slight brightness adjustment (or maybe it's my monitor). Very sharp! Great work!

AWESOME b/w study, tones are nothing short of spectacular! I like how you hid yourself in the reflection of the bumper, this is a great shot!
