Challenge: Shadows (Classic Editing)
Camera: Casio QV-770
Location: elevator
Date: Jun 16, 2002
Date Uploaded: Jun 16, 2002

Metallic mornings.scratch. scratch. and liquidify before we can tie our shoe laces.
When finnaly in the elevator, I press a number. And the number lights up. And reflect comets the shadowy metallic elevator walls. That are cold. Like shade. But colder.

Don't exactly see a shadow... more of a reflection of light.

Extreme close up of an elevator door? This has nothing to hold my eye

I wish the 2 "scratches" weren't there.

I can see a shadow, sortof, from top to bottom. I'm not too sure how to improve it. It looks like it was shot straight on, so maybe a different angle or perspective? Also, cropping so the corner can't be seen on the left, maybe.

While this is an interesting photo in a way, I don't see the connection to this challenge. Photo 4 Creativity ?? Shadows 3 total 3

The subject apears to be a highlight on the metal door of an elevator making the rest of the picture shadowy?

Shadow? I have no personal appreciation for photos like this so my input is probably useless. The scratch detracts from the line of light. If that's what you were trying to highlight then the scratch has gotta go (just whip out your buffer),

Sorry, I just can't see any 'creative use of shadows' in this photo.

I wish I knew what this was, but I don't really see shadows represented here. Too abstract for me.

This is a very brave photo. I can see what you were attempting, and there's a lovely effect going on there with those colours, the brushed metal texture, the shaft of light, etc. But I don't think it quite works.

You've gotta be kidding me. Its a picture of an elevator door. There are shades of light and dark but no well defined shadows.
06/18/2002 05:41:00 AM
uh, that's pretty stupid
06/17/2002 09:16:00 PM
weird, but I like

Not really sure what I'm looking at, but I kinda like it.

Whoa, you're going to get hung out to dry for this one, but I see where you're comming from. I love the graphic design and the textural elements that tie the photo together.

Looks like a scratched piece of film. What was the point here.?
06/17/2002 12:49:00 PM
I think the 'glare' is distracting from any shadow that may be visible in this image... Maybe a glare is an 'anti-shadow'??
06/17/2002 11:26:00 AM
The scratches are distracting.
06/17/2002 11:14:00 AM
This one is a bit unusual, but I find the scratched surface very anoying. I also think (just my opinion) that the shadows are not strongly tied to the subject. To me the subject looks more like the slit of light.
06/17/2002 10:30:00 AM
SciFi feel to this......cool. Sorry about the scratches they take away from an otherwise neat shot.
06/16/2002 08:44:00 PM
I'm not sure this communicates the idea of shadows to me.
