cool - tris is a creative take. The empty stare and ominous feel here is effective. 7

My only 10. Kind of thrown by the vertical placement. Maybe the point. Love the way you put this together - think this image goes way beyond DPC. I can't see it not winning unless you get hit by the DNMC challenge police. Beautiful textures and coloration. What else can I say - you know you've done it with this one. :)

Wow, talk about an arresting image! Amazing shot, I really like the way you dirtied the shirt to blend it with the leaves. How did you get your legs to fade in or are they just buried? good luck!
  Photographer found comment helpful.
11/10/2005 10:38:41 PM
This is wonderful. The soiled and partly 'buried' body recalls organic decomposition; the ultimate 'dead end'. But that's not all ... there's at least one other whole level of meaning to explore; the deep drift of autumn leaves provides another kind of 'dead end'. And then there's the clever title, which seems to be a sly reference to both of these interpretations of the image; the body falling to dust, and the fall leaves. Brilliantly conceived and superbly executed - it's original, thoughtful and technically excellent, and it's awfully rare to get all three of those together here! 10.

Exceptional idea in the treatment of the photo and effect. The white border doesn't do it any good and the dead end interpretation is little soft for me. 7.

Fantastic creativity, Jason! You've taken a simple scene and turned into pure art... not an easy task. Composition is top-notch, and I especially like the transition from monotone into the colored leaves. 10

I like the work a lot. The 90 degree canvas shift makes for an interesting composition. The processing, I think adds quite a bit, but I can be a fan of quality heavy processing. 9

Different and I really like Different. Great job on creating an image that holds the viewer's attention. Although the entire set up is amazing - I love the white shirt and the contrast that adds with the soil and the leaves. Well Done --9--

This is exceptionally artful. I love how he blends into the leaves as if he's sinking in a dreamlike state. The fall leaves are the perfect palette! Beautiful and well executed. 9

Would have worked much better as the (original) horizontal shot. Great idea and execution - maybe just a tad too dark.
