a street artist had spray painted a guerrilla rebel on a newspaper box in front of an african church in an urban neighborhood. the headline, with the fighter floating above it on the plexiglass, spoke to me.

rotate, crop, levels, curves, channel mixer, colorize (hue/sat/light), softglow just a bit (to pop the spray painted image), scale, border.

A very strong image with great political overtones. Those images that move.

This is a great one Jeannel. I wish that you panned out a bit more so that the box with the newspapers in it was a little more obvious. Right now it is beautifully abstranct, but showing more would give context to what you are seeing. Great overlaid images. I didn't get to vote in this challenge so I'm just seeing this photo now!

Great tribute to a great pioneer of civil rights. I like the gritty feel this image has - as someone said, timeless. I think this should have scored higher, but I think the very slight tilt of the newspaper inside the rack and the harsh lighting hurt your score. I still like it a lot. :-)

The transparency here if I'm not mistaken is by the newspaper rack, in this case, with some art spray painted on it against the daily paper. I like it but might be viewed differently by the common DPC folk and could be potentially voted down. I say it a great try and a good "outisde of the box" image.

Your image has a very photo-journalistic style to it. Even though the event is recent, the grayscale gives it a timeless quality.

wish the picture was stronger.. as in more contrast or sharper... a bit washed out to me.
