Image was a layer of ice in a wheelbarrow with leaves on the bottom. Used shutter and aperture priority. Used 3.2 megapixel setting and fine grain. Focus was center weighted. Auto white balance. 9mm focal length. Post processing - adjusted color balance, hue, saturation. Also added more contrast. Burned in many of the details of the ice and the leaves. Applied neat image to filter and sharpen image. Also used paintbrush on a number of spots that were all over the image. Resized, used unsharp mask and burned a little more.

This is a really cool shot that could have been better technically, as mentioned in the comments below. However, here, your choice of subject is quite good.

beautiful!

did you try any shots with a polierizor? i think i might make the leaves show through more and enrich the color!

A bit bright/ overexposed. Try to pull down the curve in curves in Photoshop to get better contrast. Concept is good, you get the idea of natural diamond cutting.

I'm curious how this would turn out if you had used a polarizing filter, probably could see more of the under brush.
Interesting!

That's a great image. So much going on, draws you into it.

excellent choice of subject for this challenge. the white blowouts are bothersome... if this was outside on a sunny day, you could have prevented the blowouts by blocking the sun with a chunk of cardboard or something similar. also, a polarizer would have helped cut through some of the ice to let the colors beneath show through.

the glare on the "ice" is too much. but a fairly nice abstract.

Just perhaps a little too busy for me. Strong lines, yet nothing to really draw my eye in.

interesting image. it's strange...the ice almost looks like plastic sheeting layed over the leaves. interesting lines.

My favorite part of your photo is the patterns created by the plastic itself, especially in the uper left quadrant. Good entry.

crazy.. i think all the light reflections take away from the beauty of the colors of whats trapped under the ice.. its a cool shot tho..
