| what was meant by this pic is to show that i think i'm a pawn in the world being controled by greater powers and that this is the are within which in live. |

| If you would have at least had your hand putting the piece into position I could have bought it as self portrait. But - in my interpretation I need to at least see part of *you* literally. Technically I wish there was more focus to the entire pawn and less glare on the pink areas. |

| Nice that you used a pawn, and the shot is clean, but for a self-portrait I would hope to see something "you" that sets you apart from the other pawns in that part of the country. :) |

| I do like the idea of this photo, but not really sure it fits the "self portrait" title (not in the traditional sense anyway). The top of the pawn being out of focus detracted a bit as well |

| I think the DOF here is too narrow and because the pawn is so large, you can't really tell where you are from. The glare in the background is also distracting. |

Would like to see more depth of field here. Great photo for a macro or still life. I like the concept and the colors... Not really a self portrait to me. I am being very open minded with regards to relativity... I'm not really looking for a photo of you per se, but at least an image that would reveal some of your character, interests, etc maybe. All this tells me is that you live on or near the Southern East Coast. Your chess piece is very large in comparison to the scale of the map, so that is even difficult to determine. For quality and interest of image, I would give it a 7 or 8, but for applicability to this challenge I need to downgrade it to a 5.
