Shot about one block from my home... I was on my way back from the auto parts store, and snapped about 20 frames. I cropped this one from a larger shot because I felt it emphasized the rich colors and focus of the tractor.

Technical:
Underexposed by -.9EV to compensate a bit for the noontime sun. Adjusted gamma to 1.1, brightness/contrast to 0/15, and HSL to 0/15/0 in PSP8. Final step was USM at 1.25/80/5 and the border. Voila'

Thanks to everyone for the comments...

I originally shot the entire tractor/baler/platform off-center, but it didn't really give the entire scene the perspective I was hoping to achieve. By cropping down to include just the part of the scene in my challenge submission, it brought the focus back to the tractor and enhanced the composition, in my opinion.

As for the comments about the sharpness, I'm not certain exactly what to think. On my calibrated monitors at home and work, it looks fine, but I did notice that at my Dad's house, it brought out more of the effect of sharpening. He runs a much lower color setting and resolution, though, so perhaps that's the difference.

I like this photo but would like to see more of the bailer. Clearly this isn't much of a tractor crowd. You would have done better in a "normal" crowd ;)

You should have cropped (or shot it) so that the red machine is completely out of the pic, with the back tire of the tractor right up against the right edge of the picture. Then desaturate the remaining red.

The mountains on the right make this a interesting photo

Geez, it's funny how many different shots I took for this challenge, and how often I see one that is very similar to something I shot! I took something very similar to this yesterday afternoon, but didn't submit it. I like the shot, and the terrain surrounding it! Nice work.

I like the feeling this photo conveys but somethings seems slighlty off with the composition. I'm no expert or anything, but maybe it's the drastic switch between the tree-line and the mountains behind it, or the fact that the red thing behind the tractor, which contrasts very nicely with the green btw, is cut off in the frame. Other suggestions would be to make it slightly less sharp and lower the brightness on the highlights. Keep up the good work.
