I'm pretty sure I used the macro extender tube on this one, but not 100%.

From the Exif data, it looks like I used the (built in) flash on this one. It was taken near dusk in the shade, and the lense was (probably) really close to the rose, so I don't think it was hugely different than the ones without the flash, but I think it did help provide a little more contrast.

Photoshop: Some desaturation, reduce contrast, and brighten.

Given the amount of contrast and brighten adjustments, I'm not sure that the aperature and shutter speed have much basis in reality.

My intention was for most of the flower itself to be the background with the details being the forground. I had a hard time cropping it to eliminate the gray corners and keep overall flow that I wanted, so I compromised and left a little bit of gray. Since the gray is just a touch at the corners most people don't seem to notice it too much.

But yea, I think it'd be a better shot without the gray corners, regardless of the challenge requirements.

Very nice shot and framing, but I can't SEE the background, which is supposed to look white. 4.

Wonderful rose, don't see the background though. (oops there it is, that gray stuff)
Something about the title is so familar.

I'm not sure what the title has to do with anything, so I'll just pretend I didn't read it.

Not sure about the title but I love the detail and layers in this picture. Nice and clear. The subtle touch of pink is a big plus. Great Picture.

The gray on the corners is slightly distracting ...but a fine entry. 8

love the slight magenta color on the outter petals. i think a round of sharpen edges might have helped this as the focus looks a bit soft to me(could be my monitor tho) good luck 8

Could use a tad of contrast.

Beautiful picture,
the different shades of white,
and the title which greatly turns the picture upside down.
