Greetings from the Critique Club
Welcome to DPChallenge.
I'm going to start off by saying be careful with the focus of your camera and watch the settings. If you try to shoot something in macro and are a few feet away its going to be blurry. Also make sure you don't have any film on the lens that can do it too. And just like Tara explained learn to use the autofocus feature. A tripod will also aid in focusing.
Now something to remember try and finish up with an image close to 640 on the longest side. People around here really get testy over smaller images.
Don't give up go start clicking away and learn how to use that camera then come back and show everyone what you can really do.

OK ... so you have 26 comments that tell you the photo is out of focus. Here's what you can do to stop this from happening again:
Most "point and shoot" cameras, and I'm sure this includes yours, has an autofocus feature with an assist. When you go to take a photo, press lightly on your shutter button, and let the camera focus itself. It should signify it's in focus with a beep, or a red square of somesort. Mine beeps and shows a red square right where it's focused. If you don't get that, it's not focusing. Low light always makes it more difficult. One it is in focus, press the button the rest of the way down. Take several photos at different angles to help you get the best perspective. Also, try a different background next time. Quilts can be a little busy.
Don't give up! Check out my stuff, and see that I still haven't! :) Try again in one of the new challenges.
Good luck! :)

Unfortunately this image is out of focus. The colours look good together, and I love the texture of quilts. Sorry! |

you may try bring some part totally into focus... nothing is really clear... it sorta makes it feel sloppy |

composition is flawed. what is beautiful? THE QUILT? cause that is what is in focus... is that a hand in the background? is someone sleeping in the bed?
check out the rule of thirds. also the yellow flower almost blends into the yellow of the quilt because of the focus problems, this is confusing to the eye. |

I can see your idea; however, the focus is too poor to properly evaluate. |

I think you're trying to show how delicate the flower is, and if so, you may want to have a sharper focus on the rose to draw attention to it. Good luck. |

This shot is out of focus. If you had stepped back and shot the flower then cropped it in Photo editing package to exclude all the clutter around it It could have been a better shot. |

Can't see anything in sharp focus here. I think that's a rose in the foreground. If that is the main subject, then it should be in focus. |

not one single area of this picture is in focus |

Unfortunately, it's very out of focus and the background is pretty distracting. Pretty rose though. |

Good idea, but if the focus had been on the rose it would have worked better.
As it is it took me 15 second to realize it was a rose. |

the rose is out of focus, and the background is distracting - with the focus on the rose and the top cropped down to the blanket this would be a stronger photo |

Hard to rate this fairly since it´s out of focus and also pretty small... |

I'm sure you don't mean a blanket. But it's in focus. And rose - not. Be precise while focusing - it's a powerfull tool to pay viewers attention. |

I don't know much about much but in my opinion, this would be better if the yellow rose were more in focus - especially if this is the subject which I think it is :) |

The strong point of the shot is the rose and as such deserved to have sharp focus. I suspect you'll get a few of these comments. May I also suggest you try and use the max allowed picture size as most get penalised for submitting small entries. Keep at it. |
