It looks to me like this photo was out of focus (or focused to the top right outside the frame) and oversharpened to try to bring it into focus... would have been better with a macro lens focused somewhere inside this frame... by the way, is it a shell?

Looks like the inside of a shell to me. My favorite part is the upper right hand corner. Some of the flash highlights are a bit strong. Also, I wonder how this would look it you completely cropped out the bottom element which would concentrate the viewer's focus more on the upper part of your shot?

A SHELL! Am I right? :-) The upper right portion is more in focus and draws the eye there. Might be stronger if the focus was more on the center nub in the image. Good work though.
