You are looking at a one night event. Only on 9/11/2005 where these lights on in memory of the day that changed the world. This was a little different then previous years when the lights were placed north of the original site of the World Trade Center towers; in 2005 they were placed south of Ground Zero. The placement this year (2005) made it a very interesting picture in that this placed the lights in front of the Statue of liberty instead of behind as in the previous years as view from Jersey City along the Bayonne border.
Though many photographers shot images from North and West of the site, very few shot this image from South of the lights there by including the illuminated Statue of Liberty in the foreground.
