If this was shot with a wide-angle lens, I cannot tell at all...

Cool idea. Seems like focus could maybe be a little sharper, not very good detail present, especially in the darker areas. Perhaps some tweaking in levels could enhance the image? I have the feeling that this may be a case where the centered composition may not be as strong as if the plane were framed toward the right edge of the shot.

A nice wide angle, yet I wish the plane wasn't so centered in the photo. Sometimes I find more interest in photos where the main subject is off to one side or the other. I wonder how this would look at a different time of day where there was more lighting?

I don't see this as lending itself well to being a wide angle photo... because the interest is purely on the plane, especially because you have it situated almost dead center. While I'm sure you took this with your wide angle setting/lens... I personally have been looking for things that are made better by the wide angle look. Just my honest opinion.
