 These are diesel heaters that used to be put in orchards to keep the frost at bay. When the air quality becamse a big issue, these guys were decommisioned. Now if we can just decommision the other polluters in So Cal...

Not much here - just some sharpening and a little play around with the levels.

Thanks to everyone for your comments - I actually tried to crop the trees out but it ended up looking too elongated and 'staged' - a perfect example of framing it right the first time around, should have tried harder.

Yep rikki - same as personification. We use these things in Australia for heating in sheds sometimes, I've never seen them used in such high numbers to ward off frost before so they've been given a fair bit of attention by me! :) Thanks again guys - see you in the next one!

If you cropped the shot so you didnt see the brush along the top edge it would give a much more repetitious feel to it. I think the stuf along the top edge severely detracts from this photo.

Good wide angle and the elements creat an interesting pattern. For me, I wish there was a bit more color saturation or contrast, but a good entry.

very cool abstract!! to me a tad lower crop so that there was nothing else BUT the pipes would have been an even better presentation!! and would have given the impression of infinite
