 Hadn't intended to enter this challenge (thought "a tough ambiguous one") but this mocking 'face' presented itself while I was strolling in the woods on Sunday. So went with my first reaction and decided to submit it out of fun. Halloween is after all just round the corner! : )

Would be interesting to see if DPC-ers like it. Just a bit of editing to improve levels of contrast and color.

Thanks everyone for the appreciative comments and the votes (good or bad). This "face" was really just mocking me and daring me to enter this challenge. It's been really interesting to learn how different personification can mean to different people. :)

Re the fern leaf, yeah, agree with some of you that it's very distracting. This was actually my first shot and I tried several dozen others after by pushing the fern down and at different angles. But when I uploaded to my PC, I found that the overall quality of the light and focus was really better with the first one.
