Sunday mornings posting of the colors at Great Lakes Naval Base. I've wanted many times to photograph this large (holiday) flag being posted but am usually either gone or working.

I know I'm probably going to suffer the wrath of the people that don't like the U.S. or what it stands for but I think it's hard to find a place with more pride/patriotism, especially on our military bases. For everyone that voted low because of that reason and THAT reason alone you really need to re-think your voting style, we are supposed to vote on the image quality and how it meets the challenge NOT it's subject matter or your feelings of the subject.

With basic editing I am sure there is a lot of limitations on this image. I like the capture. I would have liked more defined in the sky. Curves may have improved that. I do not know. I did not deduct because of that. Well done.

Nice picture. Great colors, wish the sky cooperated with you this day. Would love to see some blue there.

A little washed out and a little soft, but still good shot.

The pole is lined up well but the extra space to the right of it is distracting. Maybe have it flushed against the side or cropped out completely. Without the pole it might look like the flag is being raised up to the sky?

Timing excellent on this..much more meaningful than just a flag..I can sense the pride..and this from a Canadian!

Oh! Two seconds later and the flag would be completely above the people's head!

fits the challenge perfectly. the whole picture seems a little soft is the only thing I would change...........you gotta take this w/a grain of salt though since I'm new to all of this. i'm still trying to figure out how to make my pics sharper too.....nice job
