Hi Koriyama!

This is your critique from the critique club.

It's funny that I should get this picture to critique, cause I have had my eye on it for the last week or so. I saw it, and I found it immediately appealing.

The lighting is superb, and so is the composition. I don't understand what brought your score down. My only guess is that there is a slight graininess, probably from using such an extreme Aperture setting. I think if you had tried something shallower for a macro like this, it may have been less grainy.

There is such a stark desolate feeling to this picture. I really like it, and had I voted, I would have given it very high marks.
Great job on your first shot.

I like the drastic lighting on this. Somehow you've manages to retain the softness of the mood.

Striking and simple. Clever and modern treatment of such an old and simple instrument. I still remember learning to play mine as a small child. 8

I like the competition of the light and dark, and the shadow created from the lighting. Simple but effective

I really like the left side shadow contrast with the red on the right. Looks slightly over edited, but a very nice cover image

I've not heard of such a mag, but this image is wonderful! Good job.

Very interesting image. I like the red/black split by the recorder and I also like the fact that the recorder is lit brighter on the red side than on the black. Good work.

Extremely cool shot. I think that the simplicity would add to it's usefulness as a magazine cover. 10

This is nice. I like the straight line of shadow. The red seems somewhat grainy.

Problem: never heard of your magazine, was dubious and checked, google hasn't either. There are probably existing magazines this photo could be for in general, wish you'd picked one.

The lighting on this is not at all to my liking, with so much bright on one side and so dark on the other. It might, however, work out fairly well for a copy compositor depending on how much cover copy there was.

A good one this - good, simple tones that I think would be saleable. Good work.
