Very interesting photograph. It could be a bit sharper, but it doesn't seem out of focus, just doft. Perhaps that even works considering the condition of the subject. Great eye and timing for the capture. Overall I like this image. |

Greetings from the critique club!
My first impression is that this photo lacks sharpness, and that the blown out background is distracting.
Composition: the composition of this photo is good. It is fortunate that the animal was leaning back as she was, because it makes for a powerful line through the frame. Also, the edge of the post that she is sitting makes for a nice grounding point at a rule of thirds intersection.
Lighting: I understand the problem here. The animal wa obviously outside and the sky that you were shooting into was very bright. In order for the animal to be exposed you had to blow out the sky. Expose for the sky and she's a dark blob. I don't know how to fix it without a strong flash or advanced editing rules. Unfortunatlet it has a strong negative effect on your picture.
Technical: there's also a distinct haze over the entire photo. Another distraction.
Relation to the challenge: it's there, buy not strong. I would not have deducted any points, but you wouldn't have gotten my bonus point for strong relation either.
Overall it is a decent photo, buy its technical shortfalls had a proudound impact on your score, I'm sure.
Please let me know what you think of the critique! Good luck in future challenges.

When I read the challenge it described using inanimate objects. For me, your photo does not meet the challenge and therefore I have given it a low score. |

Wow, interesting picture. Love your interpretation. The sky is pretty blown out though. |

it's a cute pic, but I don't see how it fits the challenge being that it's not 'inanimate'. |

I have a feeling that this Orangutan isn't all that "inanimate" as the challenge requests. |
