Without going into any details which could come back to haunt me, the following self-portrait (both shot and processed by myself) was taken after a four-day party in Dallas. It shows my unwillingness to look away from the lens even after my debauchery has laid me to waste.

10/18/2005 02:05:17 PM
What is this?

Is this a image of day 5 of rehab? I like this image if it represented this, even with all the noise in the photo.

i hear ya

interesting subject, but the yellow is too much
10/17/2005 07:27:08 PM
Strangely compelling regardless of the Pride??? issues.
10/17/2005 07:12:47 PM
... meaning day 5 without a cigarette? That is something to be proud about.

Interesting picture. The lighting is a bit harsh and there is a lot of pixel noise. Try to soften it and adjust your exposure a bit.

Bizarre take on theme..eyes are intense, overblown look adds craziness as does grainy look..background doesn't add to shot for me..without the theme or challenge all I would say is this is a shot of a person suffering..

Too much grain, yellow glow makes him look sick (he looks sick anyway), I don't see how this relates to the theme.

Don't see any theme reletion. Quality of picture low.

i'm hoping that the 'pride' element of this shot is the fact that the guy is on day five of, what? not smoking? detox? chemo? because it's hard to judge from the photo. obviously, this photo has meaning to you, but some context is needed to help others get your message. good luck.

have no idea what this has to do with pride, and the title gives no clues. the grain and tone seem a little affected if you did them on pupose. more creepy than prideful.

Day 5 of what? He does not look healthy or happy. IMO this is overexposed and way too yellow.

Striking photo, but even witth title it still doesn't contain enough information for me to percieve pride

This is a horrible photograpgh. Honestly, are you trying to get bad comments, or the lowest score, or something? I'm not trying to be "cruel" or anything, but it looks as though you took this with your camera-phone. Terrible.

I don't mind the noise, but the lighting is anything but well done causing blown out areas. I also don't see what the title/image have to do with the theme...sorry.

This pic really freaks me out.
10/12/2005 03:39:35 PM
What can I say?
10/12/2005 12:12:32 PM
I applaud your strength. I can only imagine what day five means. If this were bigger and sharper, I would give you a higher score. Keep it up my friend :) And look forward to the next days and months to come.

Day five of what?
10/12/2005 07:29:12 AM
wow! i love this. this makes me think of how hard it is to give something up, how horrible it feels, yet how much pride there is in every milestone...the first five minutes, the first five days...i fear that many voters will not view this as an artistic shot, but i do, and i wish you luck. 8

Day five without something or day five of some sort of medical therapy??? I'm trying to discern the pride from this photo, but I'm having difficulty. I'm not a fan of grainy photos, and the yellow tones and highlight areas make the subject appear quite sickly.
10/12/2005 02:34:08 AM
Congrats in advance on the brown.
10/12/2005 01:10:12 AM
Thought provoking and real. IMO its a bit grainy.
10/12/2005 12:44:59 AM
Yeah!!! Like it :) 10!
