Lighting and composition could both be better. Maybe it would be better if you had shown an ariel view of the whole cup?

There's nice tones in there somewhere, Its just that the lighing doesn't let them show. Shadows detract from this.

Yes the ray of light implies the crack of dawn. Great shot. 10.

Gre8 shot !

While this isn't a bad photo to me, it's just such a tight closeup, I personally don't find it all that appealing. If your shot showed a bit more or some of the cup/mug I would have scored it better. I do like the lighting though. :)

Without the context of the challenge and the title, this looks rather unappealing. This looks like it was an attempt at a macro shot, but it's not quite large enough to feel right. Having the bubbles lit more form the side would give them more depth. which would help this to look more dramatic.

Does not look very appetizing here. Perhaps a little more of the cup showing may have helped. Lighting also may be a issue here. The dark corner I am drawn to.

Interesting perspective, just a bit too macro for my taste... it makes it too difficult to easily discern what the image is.

Nice macro, the strip of light really shows a sense of morning sunlight streaming through the window.

Good focus, and meets the challenge, but doesn't hold interest for very long. Good photo though.

Was this lighting intentional? It seems distracting, perhaps a warmer "glowing" effect would have better supported your subject.

Great picture, love the lighting and the details.

I'm getting the feeling that there wasn't much done in the way of post processing on this shot. And I mean that in a great way. I feel like I could sick a straw into the shot and start drinking! Great job!

pretty close-up shot of the foam and creme. i would be interested in seeing this shot with different lighting to reduce the shadow, and i would also be interested in seeing how such an image looked converted to b&w.

Good idea - not sure about the shadow though
