 I'm becoming a slave to neat image...

Post: WOW! I can't believe it! A few more notes. Sorry about the brief description. I was studying for my medical board exam last week and didn't have a lot of extra time. This was snapped at my parent's house who have a full espresso machine on their patio (it's a long story). I put the camera on a tripod and turned out all ambient light. The light, therefore, comes from a 420EX flash which was aimed at the machine (no bounce). It made a nice glow and flare in the metal.

All I did post was some rotation, crop, contrast, saturation and neat image before some mild USM. The neat image is what gave it the glow.

notice here in this picture at the extreme right down edge there is a darkness which is causing picture a poor effect.

Congratulations on your first Ribbon with a glowing rendition of this caffiene machine! I have one of these in my shop (very expensive, whats it doing in your mom's patio?) but my work and my imagination didn't seem to come together. Great work, I'm sure this will be the first of many more to come!

Man, this is great! Congrats. I think it should have won 1st, but who's complaining. I loved this and of all the coffee shop photos, it was the only single worthy one of the bunch. Way to go.

I like the polished, industrial look, but something about this image make it look artificial. Too much sharpening or NeatImage perhaps?

This really shows a great imagination for color and texture. As much as I like this image I'm afraid many will fly by slap a 4 on it and not even understand everything that went into cxreating this. "9" and Good Luck!!!

that copper glow is intense with the lighting on the espresso machine! almost feels like a softglow effect. pretty, rich color. nice composition.
