the lighting an dbalance is superb on the boy, if *his* point of interest is the beaker then I feel that needs to be in focus also. My original perception was that he is looking at something else, not that.

I love the expression, but the DOF seems a little shallow.

Very nice. Great expression. Would have got yet an extra point from me if it weren't for the distracting background.

I like the composition, but IMO I think that it would look nicer if the beaker was in focus as well. Nice choice of subject!

my guess is that you will recieve mixed reviews with this one. Great moment of capture of the joy of experimentation! People will say the background is too busy - without understanding you had no control over that, and that the beaker should be in focus too. I myself am pleased with the moment of capture. 7

Great expression on the boys face. Would have loved some more dof, because the bottle is a vital pasrt of this shot.
Just my opinion.
