 I wanted to show that honey comes from the nectar of flowers. Almost called this direct shipping.. or something like that.

Crop, adjust contrast, color balance, resize, sharpen.

Blue posterboard, one light with reflector, honey, flower, honey dipper.

I like this shot. I like how, IMHO, I became a little more creative and artsy tonight :)

*Critique Club*

Very nicely done. The texture and the focus are very good even the smallest droplets of honey stand out on the petals. It definately meets the challenge.

About the only thing that might improve this is a little more light on the flower, it just appears to be a little to dark.

In all this is a really nice composition and well thought out.

I like this even more after I recalibrated my monitor, which results in colors to be richer. Beautiful colors here, great capture of detail - I love the translucency in the honey! Well done, and congrats on placing in 10th place.

I think this is a clever, as in funny, shot with the honey dipper being crammed onto the flower. I like it a lot! Congrats on a top 10 finish!

A little different, including both the utensil and the flower; better than just dripping honey from either. The solid background helps make both stand out, but the lighting on the side fades the background in an odd way. Very nice sharp focus on the flower petals.

I love love love love it. It's so pleasing to look at, and is a very interesting interpretation of the challenge. That drop of honey about to fall off the flower is perfect :) 9.

I like the directional lighting here and the red/purple area of the background that then fades to the dark blue in the background. Just wish that red/purple area was larger with more of a fade. Also, I find the flower's color to be a bit bland and wish it were more saturated and a deeper color. Overall, I like this shot and the way the flower meets that honey thing. Good job!

Of the gazillion honey shots this week, I like yours the best. It looks very sensual, almost obscene in subject composition, which gives it a "story" or personality that the standard honey shots are missing. The background is clean and the image is crisp. Nice work!
