 shot at f5.6 with 50-500 sigma, handheld, as this guy was speeding.

A late note: this guy was faster than a swift. I was lucky to catch him in the lower right corner of the frame and really drastically cropped to get him at all.

Oh, yes. I do know he's about to bonk his head on the frame and Oh, how I wish that wing was in the frame.

All this wasn't to be.

Now, I hadn't thought about trying to reverse this guy and I just may play with that. Thank you amethyest.

wow this is a beautiful shot. I love the contrast between background and the bird. It wouls be nice if the head was better in focus, but I realize you gotta work with what you are given in bird photography--this is a fantastic shot

Beautiful photograph! Yet unfortunatly there are some flaws (I am going to say them, but I think you'll agree :)).
I think the composition could be better, like reversed, a bit more background in front of his head would have been better. And too bad that wing is cut off!
Ok, I'm just nitpicking, this is a great photograph. I really like the colours!
