It just so happened to I had to take product shots for work this week.
Set this up using my Lighting Coccoon on my dining room table. Lights: 2 flashs with soft boxes set up table height, slightly back from the glass, 1 flash behind and 1 below. Also used a reflector setup above the camera, to light up the front. I mostly wanted light shining through the beer, but also needed to light up the foam.
My glass (sample) unfortunately had some flaws in it, so bubbles in beer formed ugly bubble streaks in the glass. Ultimately, for the work version, I shot this using flat beer and freshly frothed foam placed on top. This is one of the rejected versions for work. I needed something cleaner for work, but thought this worked for this topic though.
Obviously, given the open challenge, I could not spot edit anything, but the final version will have some minor touch-ups, especially the dust on the ground to the right. I will also play with blending the shadows and hightlights more, probably working from two different exposures and blending them to get the most out of it.

Great shot. Nice lighting. Only comment is the bottom seems cropped close. |

With just a bit less harshness around the lower third of the background and maybe just a hint more sharpness (I like crisp photos) I would have scored it higher. Nice touch with the matching hairline border. |

The near perfect symmetry is "clear" with the dissolved back rim of the bottom of the glass, etc. The distance that fades is nearly mirror image. Had it been perfect mirror, this image would not have been as intriguing. It is the slight difference that makes the difference. Good job. |
