Hello from the critique club!
Hi Welcher!
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to get this picture. SO happy! I loved this picture the minute I saw it. I'm gonna say this, it was one of my favorites in the sound challenge.
What I liked about it was that it was so unique, and you actually managed, even though not really, to get the sound waves going (even though it's a pan), and that's what really counts.
This looks like an orchestral score, am I right? I love this photo, and I'm adding it to my favorites. It hits a spot in my places, including my heart, which is where music is.
PERFECT!

| A very creative idea. I love the uniform ripples made by the tunning fork and the interference pattern which one can clearly see. I also love the background. Great job! |

Okay, that effect is just neat, although I think the lighting level probably should have been brought down a bit or contrast reduced slightly. I see the connection to the topic, and I do like the shadow and ripple shadow -- in fact, if it weren't for needing the establishing tuning fork shot for the topic connection, I'd like it without that visible.
I am now driving myself nuts trying to figure out what the song is. I hope you reveal this later! |

| I totally wanted to use a tuning fork for this challenge, but couldn't think of a way to do it. Nice job capturing the ripples. 8 from me. |

My favourite! Stunning interpretation of challenge... not only 'Sound', but 'What is sound?'. I love the waves, very clear.
I hope you show us how you achieved this shot... ie what container is the water in? What lighting did you use? Do you have any outtakes? I think this could be an excellent item of stock photography. 10 |
