Might have been more interesting as a vertical, rather than horizontal, composition to show more height. With the title of "Almost there" I would look for the climber in the upper thirds. The red jacket does draw your eye to him which is good. NIce shadows and textures on the rocks. |

Your subject should be more to the left of the frame to better meet the challenge. The texture of the rock and the contrast is pleasing though.

Amazing shot. If only we could move a moutain and have the lighting just right...but you captured the image right before moving into the shadow. If it wasn't for the subject matter I would think it was posed. Great shot --9-- |

He is close to a 1/3 intersection point, but he is dwarfed by the mountain. |

Shots like this with strong shadows usually benefit from a B&W presentation, neverthe less this is well composed. |

Focus seems too distant. Nice texture though. |

7 - Good shot and good application of the rule(s) for the Challenge. Criticism; in my opinion, the pink/red(?) shirt detracts from the drama in this shot, therefore I think a selective desaturation, or b/w or sepia may have overcome this, not sure. Having said that, I do like the 'pinks' and 'greens/yellows' you have captured in the rock surface. Also, especially for this Challenge, and having your "point of interest" placed at an 'intersection', I would like to have seen your 'subject' in more focus, or emphasized somehow, or closer, not sure. |

I like this alot. I'd up the red so that it really jumps out at you. The shadows and leading line of it are quite effective. |
