Ok, so this literally took 100 outtakes - and the background was SOAKED by the end. My 500W lights are irreparably scarred from liquid hitting them and searing. This was hands down THE messiest project I've ever done!

Setup - blue posterboard behind the glass, glass on a box to raise it up - fill the glass all the way to the very top - drop in die/dice. Didn't work. Try two - THROW the die/dice into the glass. That worked better, more dramatic shots.

Ok, so I know the shadow isn't completely separate and I know that this will be marked down for being cliche - but since a LOT of shots have been done before, I just plain WANTED to do this. Is there a better reason for taking a pic?

an interesting demonstration also of contrasting colors showing up in the shadows. It is not too difficult to see the greens in the shadow and they contrast well with the juice.

What a great and violent splash! I like the shadow on the wall as well, it really spices up the composition. My only quibble is a bit of soft focus on the splash part, I would have liked a little more sharpness there. Overall, great capture, I don't envy the mess that you had to clean up to get this shot!

Okay, as stop-motion liquid photos go, this one interests me more than once simply due to the height of the splash and the refraction in the shadow, the latter of which is particularly neat. I suspect you were trying to catch the whole shadow and that's why you didn't crop closer to it but it leaves the negative space a bit unbalanced-feeling; maybe a closer crop to the main part of the splash?

I'd have liked this better if the entire glass was shown, but its still by far my favorite of all those submitted.

Love this one. I've seen enough liquid splashes to make me want my mop, but the way this curtains up and the inclusion of its shadow both make this really stand out - the placement of the two so that they just appear to touch, and balance each other in the picture, is great.

Good composition and capture of the splash, but would prefer crisper detail. Perhaps brighter lighting would help to bring the subject into better focus, as well as to brighten background which has a dingy grey look to it.

nice splash. the overall quality of the image seems a bit unclear.

nice effect but i think something looks odd about it. maybe the shadow at a different angle might have looked better. who knows...you might have tried several and this looked this best. good job overall.
