...ok...not surprised about where this placed in "crispy" focus land...BUT...I found it quite entrancing...wish the peeps would learn to embrace the blur...yeah {{{rolls eyes}}} I'm not gonna hold my breath...oh well, their loss. |

This was a fun experiment. I personally enjoy this abstract image very much and was not shooting for the almost brown ribbon position. My concept was to have a subject that was not really a subject, with a point of focus that fell in the general rule of thirds area, but not so obvious as to be kowtowing to the golden mean.
So, does an image have to be in focus, lacking grain, entirely composed along an intersecting 1/3 line to have a chance in this challenge? Apparently so. Does this image fit the challenge? Most would say it doesn't but I challenge that.
Look for more shots like this and my Rain submission from me in the future, as I've grown bored of the picture perfect stock image for now. I might come back to it, but not for awhile. Cheers! |

Yes, the image is divided into thirds, but not according to the "Rule of Thirds". It is also unfortunately uninteresting. It is shape but not subject matter. |

This image needs to be a little clearer IMP, it looks a lilttle foggy to me. |

If it wasn't so blurry it would be a nice picture. Good job! |

Fits challenge=5
Color/lighting=0
DOF/focus=1
Wow factor/uniqueness=0
Attractiveness=0
My first comment was going to be WOW BLURRY and totally centered, but then I thought maybe it was the edge in the foreground that is supposed to be the main focus. It looks like you effectively used the depth of filed but I think this would have been more clear had the lighting been more on the front instead of towards the back or the blue thing was a lighter color that didn't get lost in the front shadow. Good attempt, hope I was able to help some.

For me, although your points do seem to intersect the rule of thirds, I wish there was a bit more focus or clarity. Perhaps you were trying to make a graphic-like image? |

No focus, and did not use Rule of Thirds. |

too out of focus. also the eye is drawn to the center of the picture (even if the frame is the subject) |

hard to be positive as the photo is out of focus and rather dark. Don't want to be mean. The focal point of the pic should be on the intersections of the third lines and this pic puts the centre of the frame as its focus and that is in the middle. |

To me, there is no point of interest. |

Sorry, this is neither in focus, nor does it demonstrate rule of thirds. |

DOF could be better IMHO, I think this shot as more potential. Lighting seems a bit flat as well. 4 |

This picture lacks focus, lets the eyes wander no place to rest. |

What is my point of interest, front edge of the frame? |

I guess you've used the Rule of Thirds, but I'm not sure what you took a picture of. *Something* in this shot needs to be in focus. |

Sorry but I don't like the unfocused look. |
