 I filled a 10 gallon fish tank 1/2 full of water, and squirted in a bunch of Dawn dishwashing liquid (hence the blue color of the water). I swished the water around and experimented with the resulting bubbles. I played with the bubbles, the camera angle, and the lighting angle. I found that the bubbles were at their most photogenic when pressed up against the glass wall of the fish tank, lit from behind, and shot horizontally. The white background is a large piece of foamcore. I bounced the light from two 250 watt halogen worklights off of the foamcore to backlight the bubbles with a diffused light.
This was my favorite of around 30 takes.

WTG Keith! Super bubbles! I wish the foreground were more intense, but maybe that's just me. Congrats on top 10.

At first glance it looks like a very simplistic image, and then you discover the compl shapes within the bubbles.
Blad yo didn't fill background with some ungodly color, the rainbow in one big bubble adds just the right amount. Very nice image "9"

8 - Nice shot for the Challenge. Good 'spectrum effect', be even better if it were uniform across all the bubbles to the left, and possibly a little darker, in my opinion. Nice 'base' color.

Very cool bubble shot. Personally, I would like to see less of the liquid itself and more of the top portion of the photo, but cool macro.

Rule of thirds? ha I love the water color below the bubbles, and the rainbow captured in the bubbles themselves. Great macro!

Very few of the "just plain bubbles" images are working for me, but this one does very nicely. The subtle colors & the intricacies of the bubbles are beautiful.

I think that there is too much of the greeny grey colour at the bottom. This takes away from the delicate shapes and colours of the bubbles.
