focal length 25.0mm

first time I've ever had my focal length and f-stop be the same!

one thing I've felt my photos have been lacking, generally speaking, is a theme or concept behind them... I tend to take pictures for challenges that I think "look cool" but are otherwise pointless. Here I'm trying to make it a bit more conceptual, though I've thought of many others that I think would be more "pretty" but also more arbitrary.

The idea (as I hope the picture makes clear, and the title reinforces) is that littering has more impact (is bigger) than people intend, and trash sticks around (looms large) even after individuals have gone away...

It's really hard to take a strongly thematic picture that's also very pretty! I wish this one were more aesthetically pleasing, but I'm happy with it anyway (except for that f&#*ing light post) because it's breaking new ground for me.

(what i really wanted was for the horizon line to bisect the walking figure, but the angles just wouldn't work... even as it was, I learned a lot about...PERSPECTIVE..!)

used an ND4 graduated filter (ND2 or 3 would have been better), minor post processing including curves, USM, and neatimage.

I can hear the comments already... foreground too blurry, lightpost is distracting... ND gradient too dark... BUT I'M SUBMITTING ANYWAY!!!

besides, who doesn't love getting a score of 5.5?

Exactly my struggle. I've written so much and have so many ideas but translating them into planned photographs is a real struggle. I look forward to more of your work.

nice composition and title, it has a strange feeling, but I think with a better contrast and exposure I could have given you a better grade...7

Like the genius approach to the challenge. Somebody¡¦s trash is another¡¦s art. Or is it the artist himself walking away Æ’º

I like the shadows--and that McDonald's bag looks huge! Great photo. I just don't like the blackish gradient at the top.

Cool! I love it when people tell a story in their images and you've done a great job doing that here. Very nicely done!

I get the apathy part but what is your title trying to say? The Golden Arches indeed represent some problem with the world, are you saying something about this? What is the message?

Sorry, this isnt nice... and very harsh shadows... perhaps a different subject might lead to a more pleasing/thought post.

Great perspective. There are so many reasons to like this shot...message, angle, dof, colors, composition - you caught it all. In a challenge of 600 your's is a stand out.

This photo really hit me hard. Brought back memories of watching Supersize Me, while I drank my McDonald's soda. haha As for the technical aspects of your image, I like your choice of subject, and how you captured a person walking away. Great use of lighting too. Nicely done! 8 in my book.
