 My first ever photograph to be shown on this Site taken, as the name implies, at The Silent City of Mdina in Malta. For those of you who are not familiar with the island, Malta is situated in the middle of the Mediterranean with some 450,000 inhabitants most of which earn their living from the tourism industry. As photo enthusiasts my friend Ronald and myself normally spend the early hours of every Saturday morning strolling around our little island shooting photos in the various unique locations Malta has to offer. The Silent City was taken last Thursday (a public holiday) after the decision to participate in this challenge.

If this is your first photo, great job! I am glad your were able to share this, it is an amazing area that I haven't seen before. This is a great entry. The lighting is lovely, the highlights are just a little too strong. I love the composition, as well as the overall feel the photo gives the viewer. The colors are very nice and soothing, I am glad you did not do a black and white, I like the warm colors. I think it was a very strong image for the perspective challenge, and it probably would have just placed higher based on the highlight. I defiantly want to congratulate you on your first entry, that is always the hardest one. I look forward to seeing more entries!

I like the emptiness this portrays. The only nitpick is the blown highlights. Still, a strong entry. 7
