It's brilliant, and under-rated during the challenge. |

The DOF is good. However, the background is busy enough to be distracting, even in blur. I would like to see more of the drum, to better understand what he is doing. The light is a little contrasty; and detail is lost in his face and cap. My eyes are drawn to the logos on the clothing instead of the subject. Nice candid, though. Really like the expression. |

hmm the background is a bit too in focus. of course, you're limited by not being able to ask the drummer to move away from the crowd more and by the limitations of your camera lens. however, you can try to get closer and the background blur will increase. |

This seems more like a candid than a portrait. I like the picture though. |

Good isolation with the depth of field. It may have improved the shot by moving the subject to the left a little, rather than almost central. |

I don't care for the crop at the bottom, but otherwise a really good capture. |

I can feel the enjoyment he is having playing the drums. Love the expression on his face. |

This guy looks like he is smiling all over! Very nice shot. Perhaps a bit more of the drumming stick in the pic next time as without the title I think I would have missed that he was a drummer. Good Luck in the challenge! |

For me, this is a fun, naturally shot portrait. Good job. |

Excellent color and sharpness. Considering your title, though, I would like to see more of the man's drum - I think it would add a feeling of place and give the photo "reason". |

This is more like a candid shot rather than a portrait, IMHO. |

Interesting candid portrait. The colors are nice, light seems just a little harsh not that that can be helped in a situation like this. Tthis seems like more of a storytelling type portrait so possibly including more of the drum or drumstick might help the compostion. Overall, a nice job. |

Nice DOF, I like the expression on his face, like he is really getting into it. I like the movement of the drumstick. Great capture. I hope it does well. ~Roni |
