For me, I wish your subject was looking more towards the camera. My eyes follow his...right out of the bottom right of the photo.

Doesn't look retired--looks like he is workig! Is he singing or holding his mouth open to help him concentrate?

Nice shot. I think this would be better if the background colors were not so similar to the colors in your subject.

this I consider a snapshot with on-camera flash flattening the face and casting dark shadows.. sorry
