Great image. However I think there's something about the oversharpening of the eyes that doesn't make it look real and convincing. Otherwise, I think the facial expression says it all :) |

Critique Club Comment:
Oh oh....
Why do I have to critique this one? It looks familiar if I may say so.....
Well.... If it was inspired by Breeze (see my portfolio) I am flattered.
I would see it as a big compliment if somebody thinks my work is good enough to try it their selfs.
So I hope it's inspired by it.
About Muckpods comment I just want to say: The great Picasso said: Good artists copy, great artists steal. I did it before, and stole the idea from Librodo, Librodo stole it from Kiwiness and Kiwiness stole it from the Afghan Girl.
Ok , enough, on to the photo.
There is something about those eyes. I cant put my finger on it, but they look unreal. I like the look of the girl, and the shallow DOF. Only the face is too soft. There's just not enough detail for my taste.
I think if you rotated the photo so that the eyes where horizontal and crop it a bit tighter on the left and the top this photo could have scored better, especially with tack sharp eyes, the most important for me in a portrait.
Well, this is all personal opinion off course. I still like the photo.

something about the eyes does not look real to me. The whites are almost too white. Otherwise a beautiful portrait. |

Just an excellent portrait. |

I like the crop and composition, as well as the simplicity of the shot. The lighting looks a bit harsh, and though I can't really put my finger on why, the eyes feel a bit oversharpened - maybe it's just the double reflection. |

Something about her eyes look really....odd...can't put my non-technical finger on it. I like the veil and the background...but again...the eyes look overly done in a photo editing program or something. |

What a cute picture. The soft face is almost too soft , the shroud and the eyes seem to conflict each other. Nice lighting and pose. |

her eyes look a little too muttled otherwise you would have got the brass ring - 9 |

almost a perfect shot, major complaint is in the eyes, they seem to be totally washed out. otherwise, a great shot. |

where the rest of the photo looks natural, the eyes seem false & I'm not sure why. Too white- was this sharpening? neatimage?
compelling expression |

i don't know if this was intended as an homage or not, but i would prefer to see YOUR best interpretation of the topic, and not your attempt to clone someone else's successful attempts. as it is, i think the eyes seem out of focus. |

Love the scarf, but the eyes seem a little flat. Light is nice. |

There's something kind of freaky about the eyes here. Maybe a little too glassy for me? Nicely composed. |

Beautiful lighting, but the picture appears a little over processed. |
