I don't know why it didn't score higher either. It was the most pure interpretation of the challenge. I think maybe it was the lighting that hurt the shot..perhaps it needed to be a bit warmer so the whole scene looked a little warmer? You couldn't ask for better models though. :) |

This shoulda done better! I have no idea why anyone would give this a low score. It speaks of "home" better than most photographs of the challenge, it is in focus, and it is a creative use of color. I guess you never know... |

Gets a 10 from me. I have three young boys. My address is where the wild things really are!!! This is a great shot of a family having fun together. I like it.
Good luck in the challenge.

The expressions on the childs faces are what makes this picture work. |

this is the most perfect interpretation of the challenge. :) I love the excited looks on all the children's faces, the little bag of snacks, and the interested and involved look of david. ;) Might have benefitted from a bit softer light, maybe tungsten light yellow cast? :) I don't know, but you still got my 10. |

My favorite book ever. Really! Gorgeous shot - get a print made!
I keep revisiting this shot - I think this is one of the few shots that's ever made me FEEL better on DPC. Everyone looks interested, our favorite model gets to make a comeback, and there is action here. A truly amazing picture. |

I enjoy the intimate sincerity inherent in this capture. The natural expressions and gestures are matched by the lighting, which appears to be daylight. The wonderful couch cover relates a traditional element, the clean, unpretentiousdenim suggests hands-on work, provisions, safety. The frivolous dress of the girl on the left introduces joy and lightens the mood. One obvious flaw is the light area behind the top back of the couch, which, of course, cannot just be 'cropped off'. I would, ideally, also be able to see a lil more of the man's sweater, for texture.
All in all, this remains my favourite photograph in the challenge, and not alone for its topicality. This photo has 'range', and I am moved by it. > 8 |

Doesn't look THAT wild to me - but it does say "home" to my heart. (Course, I am a sucker for red-headed kids. Got one of my own!) |

GREAT capture of emotion. This would have made such a beautiful black and white. I would have cropped the top either a little higher or a little lower. Cute family ya got there. |

Coming upon this photo, it really does remind me of older color photographs of the 50s! Good capture of expression. It really does say "home" to me. |
