Greetings from the Critique Club :)
The Idea behind this photo is very good for the perspective challenge. Putting the shot in grayscale was an interesting idea, but I think that it caused the rust to dissapear, and the ladder to start to melt into the wall behind it. Depending on the height of the ladder, this shot may have worked better with a vertical composition.
It seems that the camera is focused on the wall rather than the ladder. The small aperture was a good choice IMHO, but it may have worked better with an even smaller aperture, like f8, as it seems that you had enough light available.
this is a nice shot, and I would be interested to see it in color.
This is an excellent first try. Just keep trying, and you will certainly improve.

I think the image would have been stronger if it was cropped a little tighter on the right side. Good colors throughout the photo though. |

Too soft. Now I know that not all photos have to be sharp, but in this case the rust has been smoothed out of the picture. If you hadn't mentioned the rust I would have thought it was fine.(6)

Picture seems a little flat. Would like to see more depth. Perhaps a boost of contrast would help a little. |
