The background was excellent, and I thought the natural sunlight on the hat did wonders for this image. The thoughtful expression tells me you knew just when to click. Shocked to see this so far away from the top 10. |

Oh Brian, this is an incredible color portrait. I'm amazed that this isn't in the top 10 or 20!!!! I've been out of the loop since I've been on vacation, but I wish I could have voted this one the 10 it deserves!!!

The shadow takes away some much needed sharpness on his face. Grreat capture and DOF. |

If he were an author, I can see this as the book jacket photo. Well done. |

Absolutely beautiful work with light here. Stands out in its unpretentiousness. A remarkable sense of the man comes through for a shot with dark glasses :-) |

I have come back to this shot several times now. A story is being told within his portrait. It makes me wish I knew this guy ...very cool well done. |

picture seems a bit oversharpened to where you get some grain on the defined edges. |

I like the composition and soft background. For me, I wish his head was tilted up more, and I don't even mind the sunglasses. Nice lighting too. :-) |

I like it, but there is something strange cut out looking or underexposed on the face. Over all I think it is a good immage. |

great dof...pushing the bacground to a complete blur...however....i feel that the subject could have done with slightly better lighting on his face to show up the detail of age and provide better impact to your shot...nonetheless..great job |

I would like to see a sharper image of his face and really need to see his eyes. |

wonderful - love the background too - full sun and still no shadows on the face - clever use of the hat. the loghting is just great. so is his expression - notice how a face can say soo much without the eyes. usually we focus on the eyes but you have forced us to focus on the rest of the face and the body stance. |

Great shot. I think it is a great image and can assign so many characteristics to this man that I don't know....that's good photography!!! |
