One of a number of last minute shots I took for the Branch Challenge. I saw this tree beside the road and instantly thought of the scary forest in Snow White and the haunted forest in Wizard of Oz. I did use tripod & flash, as it was about 7pm. I really wanted to establish a dreamy quality to this image - not sure how successful I was. Turned out some of the techniques I used to create the "feel" weren't allowed in Basic Editing anyway, so that made my decision not to enter it easier!

PP included:
crop
non-selective layers of:
color sat
reduce backlighting
contrast
curves/levels
gaussian blur
sharpen
change hue

Browsing around and saw this. I have to say it has a nice look to it. The colors and shadows really help. A nice picture.

Lovely lighting brings out the feel of depth to this shot. A great example of how to create a great photo from a somewhat average location. Nice composition and exposure, and just a touch of softness is perfect. Nice job.

Oh, I missed this one. It is so lush and has a fairy tail sense to it. I can see pixies peeking out from behind the trees or fireflies glowing as they buzz around on a summer's night. Heh, how about the backdrop to "A Midsummer Nights Dream?" Ok ok, I'm getting Waaaay to carried away. This is a great stage set though. Just don't superimpose the grunge baby in it. ROFL

Awesome tree, I love the softness and colors. I bet if you came to canada and that tree was around, I would be in it. Yep.

Very nice. Kind of scares me....like the forest which looks very nice but will eat me up when I enter...imagination on the run...I love the colors. The light green areas add to the dreaminess of the photo. You sure did a great job with the crop.

Ok I really like the back lighting coming through the leaves but the branches lead me right out of the frame, but thats my only complaint overall I like it.

Well, the colors and the form of the branches are the first things that jump out at me in this picture. I like how the branches all reach out to almost every part of the frame, including where you the trunks start in the ground. This would have been a good picture for the challenge, but it would also be really great for challenges with hidden letters. I already see a great "A" and "P" in this shot :). Great job with the PP...I need to improve in that area.

Take it easy

I really like this - there is a dreamy, fairytale quality about it. That green, it reminds me of something from childhood.
