This is my father-in-law. I knew he could look pretty scary and they happened to be in town, so we took a few shots. The title wasn't intentionally the same as Joey's. It just popped in my head when I looked at it. I had probably seen it and somewhere it just stayed in the back of my mind.

Thanks for all the comments... and yes, he is as mean as he looks.

Some contrast, but for me (and I am by no means good at technical critiques) the similar grayscale values lessen the overall "high contrast" effect. Ofcourse, he looks so menacing...don't tell him I said so. :-)

I really applaud the tonal range you have achieved with this, and it's exposed perfectly. My personal opinion would be either much less or more DoF - keep the ear in focus or have just the eyes and mouth in focus.
