Challenge: High Contrast (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Date: Sep 3, 2005
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Architecture, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Sep 4, 2005

Wasn't watching my ISO and accidently overexposed this ... what to do ... what to do ...? I know, enter it into the High Contrast challenge! :-)

PP includes:
- Conversion from Raw
- Hue/Sat filter to convert to b&w
- Color Balance filter to add cyan tone
- Find Edges filter applied with Multiply at a small percentage to help bring back some of the details
- Reduced size, sharpened, added border

Debated on whether to use the Add Noise filter ... I liked the effect, but was worried about how much compression would have been necessary to fit in 150Kb.

This was taken at the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).

The tonal values seem very similar even though it's a cool perspective.

Nice contrast, the bricks are very well defined.

I love the angle of this photo because of the angle and colors. But I don't think it represents high contrast very well. If the building were a diferent color than the sky, maybe. And I think the photo would have been more impressive if the upper most part of the building wasn't cropped out. Great job, though.

blue tint is too strong for me, could have used even greater contrast.
