This must be the DPChallenge entry with the most travel involved.
Here we go:
Photographer comes from Holland.
Model comes from Florida, USA.
Shooting location: Paderborn, Germany.
And you know what the gas prises are these days.
So to keep costs down for this photo we used a tablecloth as dress, yep that's a tablecloth she's wearing.

Thanks Kat, I realy had fun working with you (more then once) this summer.

PS: More pics of Kat are in my portfolio, with more to come.

On PP:
Layers, many many layers.
A lot of USM, curves, hue/saturation & Brightness/Contrast.
Very very carefully layer masked Kat out again to avoid halos. The whole PP took me about 2 hours to get it right.
Now if I win a brown ribbon I'll stop submitting ;)

I love this photo! The only thing that really sticks out to me that really really bothers me is the wrinkles in her skirt (table cloth) I think it really makes a difference if the small details. There are so many pictures on dcp that could be really stand out if the had just ironed their models cloths. People do notice. Anyhow, next time you do all that traveling fot an amazing shot do forget the iron!!! :)

Just a gorgeous shot IMO. Very appealing tones, relaxed and elegant model and wonderful setting. You've captured it all in a very professional and artistic photo.

This is a very lovely image. The feeling and emotion in this photo is very high.
Focus and clarity are really good. Nice detail in the background and nice crispness of the model. The detail shown here is awesome.
The wrinkles in the skirt part bug me a bit though. Maybe a bit too much detail there. Wonder if they could be cloned out or if maybe ironing was just the better option.
Lighting seems to be wonderful. Lovely color throughout and no distracting shadows or hot spots.
I'm not sure if it's an editing glitch, or just something that is there, but on her left side (our right) right where her waist is, there's kind of a fuzzy white glow. Also down that same side of her skirt. Looks like it might have something to do with the background right there. Maybe the background bleeding into the forground and it's making a fuzzy combination.
I love the angle and framing/cropping. I like how the model is off to the side here. I don't think it would have nearly the same effect as if she were in the middle or the other side.
This is a really awesome photo and my only complaints are the white fuzzy glow to her left (our right) and the wrinkles. Otherwise, this would be perfect in my opinion. Congrats on a job well done.

Great shot Peter, I am amazed it didn't get above 7 and didn't get in the top 5.

Knew I recognized the model (and thus probably the photographer), but I think this was an even stronger shot that the one taken on the beach (which was great!). Congrats on your 13th place finish. Excellent work!

She definitely stands out in the white dress. For me personally though, I'm not crazy about the choice of background...she looks very out of place.

She's a great model (your sister, I think?) ... I like every image she's in. You've included several interesting & effective contrasts here (colours, textures, ages, even the composition itself), by thinking outside the square. Well done. 8

Great composition, good light vs dark love the light and mood. Interesting model and background. She has the purity of a virgin bride, standing in front of the door to .........

Love the setting and the white pops very nicely. I only wish teh dress had a few less wrinkles in it. I'd say at least top 3 though IMO. Also, not many women can pull off the shaved head look, but your model looks great.

Very nice ... good pose on the model. there are some thin line all around the model that distract me ... probalby some leftovers after the dodge/burning. But this is one of my top 10 favorites.

I love the contrast of not only the light and dark but the smooth and rugged as well as the human against man made. You met the challenge on many levels and I like it very much. 9

Wonderful shot once again - beautiful model, whose position nicely offsets the otherwise symmetrical image.. and the extra contrasty background works very well here. Philos, of course.
