I love the imagery in thie photo and I'm glad its B&W. I think color would have distracted it. But I think it was oversharpened. You can see the white edges around the leaves and theres a dark black line between the trunk and the background on the light side of the tree.
But I'm scoring this one high because I love the movement in the photo! |

| Perhaps a little more contrast (the neutral background seems to diffuse the differences on the truck a bit), but nonetheless - an exquisite image. 8 (addendum - oops, sorry - forgot I can't vote!) |

| Nice tree. Someone worked hard for a few years to get it to grow together like that. I'm sorry to say this, but I think the majority of the picture is in the middle gray area and, to me, that sorta knocks it out of the top scores. 7 for the wonderful imagination. |

| An abstract image for the title? Whatever!.... I really like this tree and I don't know why... could it be the leaves, the trunk, or the interesting cropping. It must be the great range of tones. |

| Beautiful lighting really makes the most of the form and texture here. Personally I'd crop the right side out further, pretty much on the vertical line of the corner behind - I find the tree slightly too centred within the square frame. Lovely shot. |
