didn't exactly have "Odissi" (a kind of Indian dance) in mind when I took this picture (we just kind of naturally arrived at it), but when searching for something I might title it, I came across this website:

NITRAYAGRAM - expression - odissi

and I thought the resemblance was close enough that I might use the name for a title.

I am happy with the way this came out, though it's nothing like what I was visualizing when I started shooting.

lighting was a 500W work light bounced off the background, which was my garage door. curves adjustments and dodging turned the background pure white. added extra white space on the left to balance composition.

focal length 49.0mm

Neat silhoutte, the way the shirt is hanging detracts a bit.

I like the high key effect, but not the colour in her fingers, or the flare on her lower back. The pose feels awkward to me too. Nice. 9.

Nice shadow, the contrast is good with the white background.

Very nicely done. I like the strong contrast. The line out past her elbow is a little distracting, but still a great shot. Good luck! 9

What an original idea. Love the shot and love the minimal approach you took to the composition. Great Job.

If only you could get rid of the very faint line to the left of her. It pulls my view directly to it against that white background even more than she does. Good silhouette!

Very interesting pose - reminds me of one of the dance moves in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. Cool silhouette and composition.

there is some weird yellow distracting area in the background...this would have been fabulous in a straight black and white
