This needed a deeper dof with focus starting on the shoe. Otherwise, the concept is clever and the facial expression very nice. Bumping to 7 for the good idea.

for this to work you need similar lighting on both the shoe and the person and good focus on both.

Great Idea!

even though u can tell the shoe is closer because it's pretty blurry,i still like this photo.

Cute idea - would prefer more focus on the shoe - but good job

Great picture. I love the humor. There are two things I can think of that could improve it, see if you can get the shoe in focus (It might be beyond the capabilities of your camera), and see if you can get the shadow to line up with what the shadow of the shoe would be, have the shadow cast by a building or something instead of a tree?

really great idea, if the shoe is a lot closer to the camera. if you made this on the computer, than its awful. im gonna go with the first choice and give you the credit.

Nice idea, but by focusing on the girl, the shoe is evidently out of focus, and the trick is revealed... Shooting with more DOF would have made this a great picture.

Hehe, funny! Has buckets of potential to be a winner.
Would be better with a different set-up so you get the shoe in focus as well, since it is suppossed to be in the same plane as the girl. Maybe taking the shot with the shoe closer to the girl, and then cropping the image down later. Not sure if you have access to different lenses, you might try a wide-angle for greater DOF, or maybe a smaller aperture might possibly do the trick. The lighting between both is also inconsistent.

A little macabre, but clever. You need to match the lighting and focus for both the close shoe and the distant girl so I don't see right away what this really is. The out-of-focus shoe compared to the girl looks closer than her - losing the strength of the effect.

cute, but shoe is not the main focus

Nice shot. It's a pitty the "big" shoe is out of focus.

this would have worked better had the shoe been in focus.... great idea, though

very creative!! i like it----

The illusion faiils because both subjects have to be identically lit and in focus

fun

Fun! Mayge a higher f-stop for more depth of field- otherwise excellent!

LOL! good job setting this up and executing it!
09/01/2005 03:59:03 PM
It looks like I know her...maybe..idk. The photo is pretty rad and I like the illusion. It would have been better if th shoe was in focus and you could see the girl's face. She has a pretty good expression going. nice work!

cool shot but your shoe should be in focus more

the effect is lost because the shoe isn't sharp.. it's of focus and underlighted...

A great shot and a great set up. Wish the sneaker was in better focus. - 7 -

I like the idea but not the outcome, mainly for 3 reasons. The shoe that is doing the "crushing" is out of focus so you need a smaller aperture to get the whole scene in the DOF. Secondly a small portion of the crushing shoe is overlapping her heel. Thirdly the lighting is very uneven between the shoe and the girl, probably because the shoe is in a shadow and the top half of the girl is in direct sunlight. I really encourage you to keep experimenting as I like your thinking with this but this particular shot isn´t hitting the spot with me, I gave it a 4.

Very funny picture. I like the expression on the girl's face before she gets stomped on. The lighting's kind of distracting to me, how there's shadows in one area and light in another. The colors are good though, and overall it's good.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!!!
08/31/2005 06:28:39 PM
Just a little more DOF and this would have been perfect. :)

Great idea! It would definitely work better if the shoe were in better focus ... Hard one to pull off.

Hehe, very Pythonesque!

This was a wonderful idea however I would have preferred to have seen the shoe in focus as well as the girl which would have made it more realistic. Good luck

I understand what you were going for, but you need 2 things to make it work:
1. The shoe needs to be in focus.
2. The shoe had to have the same lighting on it that the figure you are stepping on has.

Great idea, need more light on shoe and less DOF to keep all in focus

LOL. I love the humorous approach. Slip, is that you??? Her expression is hilarious.
08/31/2005 05:29:28 AM
wonderfull shot!

funny, but the blurry foreground is a pity, and the young lady's foot is partly hidden -6

Clever Idea, however there are some things I notice:
1. The shoe is out of focus. To make this perspective trick work the whole image need to be in focus.
2. It's oversharpened. Perhaps to try and make up for OOF shoe?
3. Harsh midday lighting. Early morning or late evening when the sun is closer to the horizon makes images much more pleasing to look at.

I hope this helps!
