 The original looks pretty horrible, after some levels, brightness/hue, curves and unsharp mask this looks like a whole new picture. Thank god.

No actual rubber ducks were harmed. Used Kontio rubber boots. Classy eh? :>

Prediction: 5.2. I'm happy with 5.0+ results.

First let me say that I think this shot fit the challenge well and in a unique way. The B/W works too. I think it may be a tad on the tall side - I would consider cropping some off the top. The splash works well and really makes the shot. I think your tonal contrasts are good, but you might consider bumping them up a bit to get more umph out of the water. And although it didn't quite make the score you predicted, I have a feeling that it may have suffered due to the sheer number of entries. When that happens, the shots in the "middle" are frequently overlooked (IMHO). I think it was a solid entry and has a lot of merit on its own. Just my 2 cents... :-)

Nice DOF, good contrast, the action is well captured. A small point however, I would have expected two feet tight together stamping into a puddle to make a splash.
