Challenge: Shoes (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Location: my garden
Date: Aug 29, 2005
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 1600
Shutter: 1/100
Galleries: Fashion, Still Life
Date Uploaded: Aug 30, 2005

i saw the shoe challenge and had a vague idea of what i wanted to do. I went outside set up my shot and shot my first two pics and it was only then that i realised my iso was set at 1600-this was the result and i thought it looked pretty interesting so i kept it! The shoe is actually pitch black and the heel is solid but i think the effect of the wrong exposure made it visually interesting!

interesting shot. I keep wanting to scroll left to see the toe! Taking your title into consideration, the portait orientation works well. Maybe try to crop or compose so that you have some open space in the top of the frame. I feel this would enhance the image, especially in light of the title.

You did well young lady, I love this pic. My opinion is that it should have placed higher.

This is a great shot, the overexposure works very well and makes it almost an advertisement photo.

I love this shot, I think it captures so much of what a shoe wants to be when its a high heel... glossy, powerful and radiant. Great work

Very nearly looks like a glass slipper. High key and DPC don't seem to mix, but I like it.

Did not get to vote in this challenge, but I would have liked this one! I think the low contrast adds to the mood if the photo.

I want to like this, but my first thought was, "Ouch!" The white is good, but the blown-out parts just hurt to look at. Other than that, I like the composition and title. 7

oh .. it makes me want this shoe! ... the only reason it did not get a 10 from me was the scratches on the leather were so visible. Fantastic other than that.

Interesting over-exposure. I'd have preferred a tighter crop at the top, just above the heel. 7.

would be dizzy to..high contrast, maybe a bit to digh as parts of the image dissapear and borders are difficult to see, nice effect though

i really think that this could have been a better photo against a darker background, black would have been nice. big hot spot on shoe is very bright and distracting. to bad all the creases/scratches in the shoe are visible.

The marks on the shoe bug me but an extra point for the dreamy abstractness of the shot - 5

Cinderella....you might have wanted to crop the pitcure so the ribbion isnt showing in the frount, or maybe show all of it, one orthe other

crop seems umm... awkward, especially the fact the untidy corner of the strap was left. could be closer to emphasize the tall heel.

I think you've gone just a bit too far overexposed there too, and the focus isn't as sharp as you would expect to see in something see-through like the heel.

nice texture, i really like the frame
