I'm not expecting a high score for this...
In Japanese schools (and houses), outdoor shoes are for outdoors. The students wear white canvas shoes inside, and they wear separate shoes for the gymnasium, permamnently stored in the shelves in the entrance hall.
I had to shoot this through the glass of the door as the door was locked.

Brings back memories of long ago.

I would have cropped the top off and a tad off the bottom to make the array more prominent.

personally, i would have cropped out the bugs on top, because i find them distracting and contrary to the wonderful pattern-geometric-thing you have going on here. but, it's a really cute bug... :-)

The carpet at the bottom and the designs at the top give this image a point of view - I'm guessing a school. But when the image is cropped to eliminate everything at and above the black horizontal line, a great pattern/ line picture of shoes emerges.

Nice idea. I think you should have filled the whole frame with only the shoerack, and then have kneeled down, to get the lines straight.

nice pictire. I think had you cropped off the top and just left the shelves witht he shoes showing it would have had more of an impact.

Good composition but it seems a bit out of focus to me.

I love the colors! Great positioning on the shoes, though it might have been fun if they were shoved into random holes halfhazardly, as kids tend to put them.

this image is out of foces. The rake of shoes by them selves would have made an interesting image but the extra green pin up board at the top takes away from the image.
That the shoes are not all perfectly in the boxes and evenly distrubitued is a strong point in this image.

This photo could only be taken in Japan... Can't see the writing on the shoes, but I'm pretty sure only the Japanese are so neat ;)

As for the photo, good balance and diversity. Maybe the lighting could have been a little more dramatic?

I think this is a great idea for a photo. It seems that critics feel that amidst a whole lot of one thing (white shoes) you should include one that doesn't quite fit (like a red shoe for example) or maybe all on one side except for a lone one in the corner? In any case, good idea. It might work better if sharper and more cropped?
Nice job

Are these for rent or something? Like bowling shoes? What is the signifigance of the bug's picture? I am really trying to get this shot. The shoe sizes look too big to match the little-kid-switches-shoes-to-go-to-gym scenario I am imagining.
