 This was the only idea I had that might be original, if I'm lucky, and I'm out of time to take a better pic.

Post Processing in PS (in order):

Curves
Color Balance
Gaussian Blur
Brightness/Contrast adjustments
Unsharp Mask
Lowered Saturation

I may have forgotten something, fooled around for a while trying to get the colors and contrast the way I wanted.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I'm happy with this finish..
Now to answer a few questions.

For those who asked how I got that boot to stand up, it's the simplest thing in the world. I broke off a piece of coat hanger and stuck it into the crack in the sidewalk and into the tread on the boot, and balanced it.

For those who commented on the sepia tone, it's mostly natural. This was taken in the dead of night, the shadows came from a street light as did the whole orangish look. It was a much brighter orange before I post processed it.

This is cool how they seem to be walking without anybody in them. I like the long shadows of the late day light. The filter adds a nostalgic sense to them. I like this more upon second review. 8

Nicely done, I like the strong side sunlight, the composition and the effect of the front shoe being in mid stride. The sepia works well here, too.

Nice shadows, I like how the boots are walking with invisible feet. I really dig sepia. The grass in the background is a little too dark. The testure of the sidewalk is cool, however.

Nice touch to have the shoe on the left stand up a little bit, I don't love it but still a 7 from me. Nice texture and tones.
